National Fraud Information Centre (NFIC) is a non-for profit consumer organization established in 1992 by the National Consumers League to fight the growing menace of telemarketing fraud by improving prevention and enforcement. The NFIC offers consumers advice about promotions in cyberspace and route reports of suspected online and Internet fraud to the appropriate government agencies.
Identity Theft Resource Centre (ITRC) is a non-for profit organization based in San Diego, California which main focus is on identity theft. The website contains important information for consumers such as fact sheets, surveys, consumer guides, laws, testimonies and information in Spanish for victims and consumers to avoid identity theft.
Electronic Privacy Information Centre (EPIC) has a webpage entitled: “Identity Theft Its Causes and Solutions” with relevant information, comments, congress submissions & testimonies, news and links to other sources on this topic.
Privacy Rights Clearinghouse is a non-for profit organization based in San Diego, California. Its webpage on identity theft contains information for consumers, fact sheets, quizzes, publications, victim stories, cases and links to other websites on identity theft.
Call For Action is a non-for profit organization and has a website with information and tips on identity theft, links and an online form to report electronic fraud.
Consumers Union a non-for profit organization publisher of Consumer Reports has a webpage on identity theft with information for action and prevention for consumers.
Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) a non-profit organization based in Ottawa, which provides legal and research services for Canadian consumer has created a section on identity theft with information, reports, news and links.
Transatlantic Consumer Dialogue (TACD) is a coalition of 45 European and 20 US consumer organizations that develop and agree joint consumer policy recommendations to their respective governments to promote and strengthen the consumer interest and policy making between Europe and the US. TACDís website contains a list of useful documents and information, most of which are related to consumer protection in e-commerce.
